Hyundai revealed the facelifted version of the Hyundai Kona and Kona N Line for 2021. While the main form of the car has not changed but the automaker added new LED DRLs, redesigned bumpers, robust skid plate, new taillights, revised grille, and some other elements. Buyers also get a new set of 16-,17- or 18-inch wheels for their Kona.
Hyundai also revealed the N Line version with a different bumper, air vents above the grille, new 18-inch wheels, aerodynamic lip, and rear diffuser.
Hyundai has given the 2021 Kona new engines as well that the most powerful unit is a 1.6-liter TGDI SmartStream with 194 hp and 7-speed DCT transmission. This engine is available in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions.
Buyers also can opt for the 1.6-liter Smartstream diesel engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid technology that pumps out 134 horsepower. This engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-class transmission buyer also has a choice to get a 6-speed intelligent manual transmission for the diesel engine.
There's another mild-hybrid version available with a 1-liter T-GDI Smartstream petrol engine that can produce 118 brake horsepower this one is also available with 6-speed manual or 7 is manual transmissions and 4 wheel drive options.
The last hybrid unit is a 1.6 l GDI engine with 138 horsepower this model uses a 1.56 kWh battery pack and 6 is 12 class transmission but it is only available in a front-wheel-drive configuration.
Hyundai also made some changes to the suspension system in order to improve the ride and handling of the Kona.
Stepping inside the cabin and you will soon realize a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an optional 10.25-in central infotainment screen the central screen supports split-screen function as well.
On the safety side, Hyundai Kona is equipped with Hyundai's SmartSense Active Safety suit that includes blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance, smart cruise control, leading vehicle departure alert, intelligence speed limit warning, lane following assist, safe exit warning, rear-seat alert, and forward collision avoidance assist.
The 2021 Hyundai Kona will launch in European markets by early 2021.
