For the 2021 model year, BMW only sold the M8 as a four-door variant, also known as the M8 Gran Coupe, in the United States, but it is now returning to the lineup for the 2022 model year.
The M8 Coupe and M8 Convertible will be offered as Competition-only versions and will be significantly cheaper than their 2020 counterparts.
In comparison, the BMW M8 Competition's twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 produces 617 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. However, thanks to a highly sophisticated launch control system and all-wheel drive, BMW claims that this car will reach 60 mph in under 3.0 seconds.
The BMW M8 Competition Coupe will be priced at $130,000 for the 2022 model year, down from $146,000 when it was first introduced in 2020. These prices do not include the $995 destination and handling cost. Similarly, the M8 Competition Convertible receives the same price reduction, with a sticker price of $139,500 as opposed to $155,500 two model years ago.
