The seventh-generation Ford Fiesta was introduced in 2017, and in 2020, it received a number of updates, including a mild-hybrid EcoBoost engine, improved connectivity, and enhanced safety systems.
Ford introduced the facelifted Fiesta line last week. The seventh generation is still an honest car, with all versions receiving aesthetic changes, standard LED headlights, and additional technology on the interior, while keeping the three-door body style and the five-door hatchback alive and well. Depending on the grade level, Ford continues to offer several grille styles.
Inside, there's a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that's "completely customizable". The upgraded SYNC 3 infotainment system, which includes navigation, voice commands, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the new Rear Occupant Alert, may be selected for the 8-inch central touchscreen.
Normal, Sport and Eco settings are available on the standard Fiesta, with Trail and Slippery modes for the Active and a unique Track mode for the ST.On the center console, Ford added a wireless charging plate for smartphones. The optional 10-speaker B&O Sound System with an integrated subwoofer and a 575-watt Digital Signal Processing Amplifier will delight audiophiles.
The turbocharged 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine, which produces 99 horsepower, is at the top of the lineup. Then there's the electrified 1.0-liter EcoBoost Hybrid, which comes with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology and an integrated belt-driven starter generator. This engine comes in two power outputs: 123 hp and 153 hp.
The former may be ordered with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch Powershift transmission, while the latter is only available with a manual transmission. The Puma ST's new turbocharged 1.5-litre EcoBoost three-cylinder engine delivers the same 197 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque as the ST.
The Wrong Way Alert has been added to the safety equipment, which will assist you to detect No Entry signs on highways with audio and visual alerts. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping Aid, Active Park Assist, and Speed Sign Recognition are some of the other ADAS systems.
The price of the facelifted Fiesta range, which is expected to start higher than its predecessor, has yet to be announced by Ford. In Europe, the first deliveries are scheduled for early 2022.
