The new RS3 Performance Edition is Audi's most potent and quick hatchback to date. The 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine that powers the RS3 Performance Edition has five cylinders. Audi has tweaked this engine's normal output of 394 horsepower to 401 horsepower while maintaining the same amount of torque at 500 Nm between 2,250 and 5,700 revolutions per minute. By increasing the boost pressure by 0.1 bar and modifying the RS sports exhaust system, more power was produced.
The seven-speed Stronic dual-clutch transmission still transmits power to the ground, allowing the RS3 Performance Edition to accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. According to Audi, this car is the fastest in its class. According to the automaker, with the RS Plus Dynamic Package option, it can reach 300 km/h.
Audi doesn't adjust the suspension because it's already quite capable, but the RS3 Performance Edition comes standard with an adaptive chassis. Additionally standard are ceramic brakes, and the car rides on 19-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires that are exclusive to the package.
Additionally, Audi has added a black rear diffuser, and the RS3 Performance Edition will only be offered with black badging. Nogaro Blue, Daytona Gray, Arrow Gray, Sebring Black, Sebring Black Crysta, and Glacier White are some exterior color options.
The Performance Edition features standard bucket seats with Dinamica microfiber and Nappa leather on the inside. Mercato Blue stands out against the dark interior. On the dashboard, there is a special '1 of 300' badge. A carbon fiber background has also been added to the 10.1-inch infotainment display.
There will only be 300 produced worldwide; none will be shipped to North America. The price of the 2023 Audi RS3 Performance Edition starts at €87,000. It will be available to customers in early 2023.
