The facelifted Ford Focus is now available in China, with minor stylistic variations from the European model.
The hatchback has a length of 4,401 mm while the sedan has a length of 4,664 mm, both with the same 2,705 mm wheelbase.
The Chinese 2022 Ford Focus was leaked in February, but the latest press photographs provide a more detailed look at the changes. The grille in the Chinese Focus blends with the headlamps providing a more forceful appearance. In addition, the LED graphics are unique. The black trim on the grille and intakes also contrasts with the body-colored front bumper wings.
The S Edition adds high-gloss black wheels and a black rear spoiler to the rear end, as well as a significantly sportier diffuser with dual exhaust pipes.
Inside, there's a B&O audio system and the Ford Co-Pilot360 ADAS suite, which allows for Level 2 autonomous driving. Black and blue upholstery, carbon-fiber design and suede-like trim, blue seatbelts, and a perforated leather steering wheel with red stitching are all options depending on the model. An 8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with SYNC + Zhi Mo infotainment are also included.
The Chinese Focus is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that produces 178 horsepower and up to 270 Nm of torque in Overboost mode.
The engine is paired with a dynamic six-speed automated transmission that offers three driving modes.
The upgraded Focus can reach 100 kilometers per hour in 7.9 seconds.
The suspension and steering have also been retuned in the facelifted model, according to Ford. Brakes have been updated as well, with front discs measuring 308 mm and rear discs measuring 302 mm.
The Changan Ford joint venture in Chongqing, China, will create the revised Focus. Both a sedan and a hatchback version of the vehicle are offered.
