For the 2023 model year, the Subaru Outback and Legacy receive mid-cycle updates. All of the trim levels and modifications to the vehicles are now priced by the manufacturer.
Subaru will continue to offer the Outback in basic, Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, Touring, Onyx Edition XT, Wilderness, Limited XT, and Touring XT trims in the future year, keeping the model lines largely the same. On the other hand, the Legacy will come in base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring XT versions.
The 2023 Outback and Legacy also sport new aesthetics, a larger field of view EyeSight safety aid system, updated control software, and an electric brake booster. According to Subaru, the technology works more efficiently and under more diverse circumstances.
Informational improvements abound. Dual 7.0-inch center information displays are still standard on the Outback and Legacy's basic trims, but Subaru claims that the on-screen controls have been enhanced. Models with an 11.6-inch entertainment system now come with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard.
For the Premium trim level, there is a new USB-C input on the front center console and another for the passengers in the back. LED lighting is being used for the dome and cargo area lighting.
Now included on the Outback Onyx Edition XT are reverse automatic braking, GPS, and a power moonroof. This equipment was a $1,845 option for the 2022 model.
the 12-way power driver's seat with two-position memory and power lumbar support is added to the Outback Limited. A 10-way power driver's seat is still included with the Legacy Limited.
For the 2023 Legacy, the Sport model now has a 2.4-liter boxer engine that has been turbocharged. The front grille of this grade features a red accent, and the side mirrors and trunk spoiler are Magnetite Gray Metallic.
In addition to a sport-tuned suspension, LED fog lights, a power sunroof, and STARLINK 11.6-inch Multimedia Navigation, the Sport improves on the Premium grade.
The engines of the updated models are the same as previously. A 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder with 182 horsepower and 238 Nm is the engine's base output. A 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four with 260 horsepower and 376 Nm is the alternative. All variants have all-wheel drive and a CVT.
Following their minor updates, the costs for the base model cars increase by $741 and $900, respectively, to $29,630 and $25,415.
