2024 Nissan Patrol Comes with Infotainment and Cabin Upgrades

The Nissan Patrol, part of the current generation launched in 2010, has undergone two facelifts since its debut. However, Australian buyers have missed out on some of the enhancements available in other markets. Nissan Australia aims to address this gap with the 2024 model year Patrol.

Despite its similarities to the U.S.-market Armada, the Australian Patrol has retained the same interior design for the past 14 years. In contrast, the Armada offers a more sophisticated cabin experience.

Under the hood, the 2024 Patrol remains unchanged from its predecessor, boasting a 5.6-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine producing 400 hp and 560 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission.

While there was speculation that Nissan would align the Australian Patrol with the Armada's interior updates, this transition hasn't materialized. Instead, Nissan Australia has collaborated with a local automotive supplier, Directed Technologies, to refresh the off-roader's cabin.

The centerpiece of this upgrade is a new 10.1-inch touchscreen, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB+ digital radio, and an enhanced wide-angle rear-view camera. Gone are the outdated CD player and excessive array of buttons, replaced by a streamlined interface focusing on essential infotainment and climate controls. The previous 8.0-inch touchscreen area now serves as a storage cubby.

The revamped infotainment system also integrates Hema Maps, renowned as Australia's leading off-road mapping service, with buyers of the 2024 model receiving a complimentary one-month subscription.

Nissan Australia has further enhanced the Patrol, particularly in the Ti trim level, which now includes a front-row center cool box, a digital rear-view mirror, and an upgraded six-speaker audio system. Notably, the top-tier Ti-L variant has replaced the previous 13-speaker Bose sound system with a six-speaker Infinity setup.

In terms of pricing, the Patrol Ti starts at AU$87,900 in Australia, while the higher-end Ti-L variant begins at AU$100,600. These updates signify Nissan's commitment to catering to the Australian market's preferences and demands, ensuring the Patrol remains competitive in its segment.
