Following closely behind the release of the electric Cadillac Escalade IQ, Cadillac is also refreshing its traditional gas-powered Escalade for the 2025 model year. This iconic luxury SUV features a revamped exterior design, a massive new touchscreen inside, and the continuation of the powerful Escalade-V model.

The most noticeable changes are in the front of the vehicle, where the design now draws inspiration from the Escalade IQ. This includes vertical headlights and sleek turn signals, complemented by a larger and uniquely styled grille that varies depending on the trim level. Cadillac has embraced the use of light as a key design feature, so the new Escalade comes standard with an illuminated front crest. The V-Series and Premium Luxury Platinum trims go a step further with an illuminated grille surround. Additionally, new 22-inch wheels are standard, and there are also optional 24-inch wheels—the largest ever offered on an Escalade—available in three distinct designs.

At the rear, updates are more modest but include new taillights and a repositioned Cadillac crest. The bumper and exhaust tips have been refreshed, and the trim has been subtly adjusted. There’s also a new range of colors to choose from, including Aegean Stone, Deep Sea Metallic, and Latte Metallic.

Inside, Cadillac’s design team has completely reimagined the interior, taking cues from both the Escalade IQ and the ultra-luxurious Celestiq. The dashboard is dominated by a 55-inch display that spans from one pillar to the other. This includes a 35-inch screen for the driver and a 20-inch touchscreen for the front passenger, the latter offering video streaming capabilities. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain standard features, and those opting for the Executive Second Row package will also enjoy 12.6-inch touchscreens in the second row. This package additionally includes a lower command screen for quick access to important vehicle settings, a new steering wheel, a column-mounted shifter, and a 128-color ambient lighting system. The overall interior design is more modern and uses higher-quality materials.

For those seeking extra luxury, the Executive Second Row package is a standout option. It features a center console with a rear command center, dual wireless smartphone chargers, and retractable tray tables. Rear passengers also benefit from dual 12.6-inch displays and massaging seats equipped with headrest-mounted speakers. Other new interior options include Renaissance Red and Jet Black / Sheer Gray color schemes, while the Escalade-V variant offers exclusive seating and extensive carbon fiber trim. Additionally, a 19-speaker audio system is standard, with an optional AKG Studio Reference system boasting up to 40 speakers.

A novel feature for the 2025 Escalade is the availability of power open-and-close doors. The driver’s door can be programmed to open automatically upon approach, with sensors to prevent collisions with nearby objects. Once inside, a tap on the brake pedal closes the door. The other three doors can also be powered, providing convenience for chauffeurs or parents.

Under the hood, the 2025 Escalade retains the 6.2-liter V-8 engine, producing 420 horsepower and 624 Nm of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. However, the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine is no longer available. The high-performance Escalade-V continues to offer its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine, delivering 682 hp and 885 Nm.

The suspension setup remains consistent with an independent front and rear suspension, air ride technology, and Magnetic Ride Control, which is standard on all trims except the entry-level Luxury.

Production for the 2025 Cadillac Escalade is set to begin later this year, with pricing details to be announced as the launch date approaches.
