Hyundai has introduced a new entry-level trim for the 2025 Sonata, lowering the base price to $26,650. Despite being the most affordable option, the Sonata SE comes well-equipped with features such as LED lighting units, an acoustic windshield, and a hands-free smart trunk. While it may lack heated mirrors and manual climate controls, the SE still offers a decent value proposition.
Inside, the Sonata SE features cloth seats, a six-speaker audio system, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a proximity key with a push-button ignition. Despite its entry-level status, the SE also includes a range of driver assistance systems, including Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Collision Warning, Safe Exit Warning, Rear Occupant Alert, Lane Keeping Assist, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection.
While the addition of the SE trim is the most significant change for 2025, a few other updates have been made. The Sonata N Line now features second-row air vents, and the SEL Convenience Package has been spun off into its own trim. However, it's worth noting that pricing for the remaining trims has increased slightly.

Most Sonata models are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 191 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque. The Sonata N Line, however, is equipped with a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine that delivers 290 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque.
For those seeking a more fuel-efficient option, the Sonata Hybrid offers a combined output of 192 horsepower and a fuel economy rating of 44 mpg city, 51 mpg highway, and 47 mpg combined. This is thanks to its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, electric motor, and 1.62 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
