The 2025 Mazda BT-50, a midsize pickup truck, has made its public debut at the Motor Expo in Thailand. This updated model boasts a range of enhancements, including a new engine and transmission combination, refreshed styling, and upgraded interior features.
One of the most significant changes is the introduction of a new 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine. This powerplant delivers 161 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, representing a substantial increase over the outgoing 1.9-liter engine. Paired with either a six-speed manual or a new eight-speed automatic transmission, the 2.2-liter engine offers improved performance and fuel efficiency.
For those seeking more power, the 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine carries over, producing 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, and it is available in both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations. The four-wheel-drive models feature a rear differential lock and an off-road driving mode, enhancing off-road capability.
The exterior design of the 2025 BT-50 has been refreshed with a new front fascia featuring the largest Mazda logo ever seen on a production vehicle. The truck also sports new LED headlights, aligning it more closely with the brand's passenger car lineup. The vehicle is available in five colors, including three new shades.
Inside the cabin, the BT-50 features a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch or 9-inch infotainment display, depending on the trim level. The truck's equipment list has been expanded to include additional advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as a Rear Cross Traffic Brake system.
The 2025 Mazda BT-50 is already available to order in Thailand, where it is also manufactured. Pricing for the entry-level model starts at $22,100, while the top-of-the-line model is priced at $39,200.
