2025 Toyota Camry Debuts with Gasoline Engine in the Middle East

While the United States market has embraced the hybrid-only 2025 Toyota Camry, the model continues to offer traditional gasoline powertrains in other regions. In the Middle East, for example, the new Camry is available with both gasoline and hybrid options, catering to diverse consumer preferences.

In terms of design, the Middle Eastern Camry closely resembles its US counterpart, featuring no significant changes to its exterior or interior. The entry-level model is equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, while higher trims boast more stylish 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, even the base Camry comes with an 8-inch infotainment screen, although the 12.3-inch touchscreen is reserved for the higher-spec models.

The gasoline-powered Camry in the Middle East is equipped with a 2.5-liter VVTi four-cylinder engine that produces 201 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. This engine is paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission, unlike the hybrid model which uses an e-CVT. The ICE-only Camry is offered in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, where hybrid vehicles are not as popular as in North America. However, a hybrid version is also available in these markets, but only with front-wheel drive.

In addition to the Middle East, the 2025 Camry is also available with an ICE powertrain in China. The locally built GAC Toyota version features a smaller 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 206 Nm of torque. This makes it the least powerful ninth-generation Camry available globally. The Chinese model also boasts slightly redesigned bumpers, distinguishing it from other members of the Camry lineup.

In the United Arab Emirates, the 2025 Toyota Camry starts from AED 109,900 in ICE-powered form, and from AED 123,900 for the hybrid. This represents a significant premium compared to the US market, where the standard hybrid starts at $28,400.
