Just a few weeks ago, early reports revealed that the 2026 Nissan Rogue would receive a series of noteworthy changes, including the addition of a new Dark Armor edition. Nissan has now officially confirmed the details and released full pricing information, with the updated model starting at $28,790. That marks a modest $200 increase over last year’s base price, but the upgrades across the range, particularly in the new special edition aim to add extra style and value.
The headline news is undoubtedly the Rogue Dark Armor, which builds on the mid-range SV trim and follows the growing automotive trend of blacked-out styling. This variant features gloss black mirror caps, matching pillar trim, and darkened Nissan badging. The transformation continues with a black grille, satin black roof rails, and striking 19-inch alloy wheels finished in gloss black. The result is a sportier, more aggressive appearance that sets it apart from the standard SV.
Nissan has also given the Dark Armor’s interior a boost with added comfort and convenience features. Standard equipment includes a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and a panoramic moonroof that brings more light into the cabin. Additionally, the model comes equipped with an HD Intelligent Around View Monitor featuring Moving Object Detection, offering drivers enhanced visibility and safety in various driving conditions.
The regular 2026 Rogue SV trim also benefits from new options. Buyers can now select a Cold Weather Package, which adds — unsurprisingly — heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, making it a practical choice for those in colder climates.
Some rumors circulating before the official reveal were partially accurate. Reports about the discontinuation of the SL’s Premium Package proved correct, but speculation about changes to the Platinum trim’s options list missed the mark. Nissan has confirmed that the range-topping Platinum still offers a Tech Package, which includes the advanced ProPILOT Assist 2.1 semi-autonomous driving system.
Not all pricing predictions came true either. The anticipated cost reduction for the rugged Rogue Rock Creek edition did not happen; instead, its starting price has risen slightly to $33,690 also a $200 increase over the outgoing model.
Under the hood, the 2026 Rogue lineup remains consistent, with every version powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine delivering 201 horsepower and 305 Nm of torque. This unit is paired with Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission, helping the crossover achieve up to 29 mpg in the city, 36 mpg on the highway, and 32 mpg combined. One change worth noting is that the Platinum trim will now be offered exclusively with all-wheel drive, reinforcing its position as the most capable and well-equipped model in the range.
