Alpina as the official tuner of BMW products will end its word by 2025. This company will go completely under BMW flag, and you won’t find the name or logo any more. This news was shocking, and the reason is not obvious.
Alpina started its work in 1965 just tuning the BMW cars and making them ready for races. This company in the previous year presented more than 2000 BMWs. This was one of the successful years for this company. However, this fact didn’t stop BMW to extinguish Alphina. Its not yet clear what will happen to the brand, but BMW promised some jobs for the former workers and engineers of Alpina.
However, you shouldn’t be worry if you have Alphina-BMW. The service, parts, and accessories business for current and legacy Alpina products will remain at the tuner's existing Buchloe facility. And if you have classic model of this Tuner its better to act now and bring it for restoration.
As BMW argued, Alphina can’t be run with the increasing regulation of emissions and driver safety systems. the situation for this company is getting harder and it’s much more difficult to keep it alive. As Pieter Nota, member of the BMW Board of Management responsible for Customer, Brands, and Sales states:
For over fifty years, the Buchloe firm has demonstrated how to deliver top-quality car cachet through meticulous attention to detail. The BMW Group is also driven by this same passion for cars that capture the imagination. That is why we are now embarking on a new chapter in our long-standing partnership. Acquiring the trademark rights will allow us to shape the long-term course of this brand steeped in tradition
However, there is still 3 years to go. Maybe condition changes, or BMW and alpine find new solution. Its so wired to lose a familiar brand.
