Aston Martin has officially debuted the new-and-improved Valkyrie AMR Pro, only days after a photo of a mystery Aston Martin Valkyrie surfaced online.

Aston Martin first revealed a concept of the Valkyrie AMR Pro at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The Valkyrie AMR Pro is more than just a Valkyrie with a redesigned rear wing. In actuality, it sports a redesigned carbon fiber chassis with a 380 mm longer wheelbase. The front track of the vehicle is likewise 96 mm wider, while the rear track is 115 mm wider. A daring new aerodynamics package extends the track-only hypercar's length by 266 mm.

Aerodynamic changes include a more prominent carbon fiber front splitter as well as redesigned front wheel arches and fins. There are also classic wing mirrors instead of the road car's cameras, a large shark fin, a fixed rear wing, and wheel coverings.

The automobile also foregoes the hybrid system of the road car in favor of a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 built by Cosworth. This engine has a top speed of 11,000 rpm and produces 1,000 horsepower. It is so quick that the automaker claims it can lap the Le Mans circuit in 3 minutes and 20 seconds, which is comparable to LMP1 cars.

Aston Martin has created a full carbon fiber body and even carbon suspension wishbones, so the diet goes beyond eliminating the hybrid components. Furthermore, the Perspex windscreen and side windows assist trim off superfluous fat to enhance the track-only machine's performance. It boasts double the downforce of a road-going Valkyrie owing to an aggressive aero package that allows for lateral acceleration of more than 3G.

Only 40 vehicles will be produced, and they will all be left-hand drive. The first client deliveries are expected for the fourth quarter of 2021.
