Chery's Avatr brand has announced the start of production for its highly anticipated Avatr 07 SUV in Chongqing, China. The Avatr 07, which will be officially launched on September 26, is available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
The Avatr 07 is built on an 800V architecture and offers impressive performance and range. While pricing details have not been disclosed, the BEV version is available in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations. The RWD model is equipped with a 252 kW electric motor, while the AWD model features a dual-motor setup with a 252 kW rear electric motor and a 188 kW front electric motor. The AWD model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
Both the RWD and AWD versions are powered by lithium iron phosphate battery packs from CATL, providing a CLTC cruising range of 650 km and 610 km, respectively.
The EREV version of the Avatr 07 utilizes Changan's self-developed Kunlun range-extender system, which consists of a 115 kW 1.5T engine and a 231 kW electric motor. The EREV AWD model features a dual-motor setup with a 131 kW front electric motor, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 190 km/h. The Avatr 07 also boasts a dual-motor intelligent assisted U-turn radius of 3.2 meters.
Advanced technologies in the Avatr 07 include the iGVC intelligent turning vector control system, iSTC intelligent steering torque control system, and Taihang Intelligent Control Chassis. These systems contribute to the vehicle's agility, stability, and braking performance.
The Avatr 07's battery pack, a 39.05 kWh lithium iron phosphate unit, provides a CLTC pure electric range of 230 km and 220 km for the RWD and AWD versions, respectively. The Kunlun range-extender system features an intelligent control system that adjusts torque based on road conditions, reducing accelerator pedal changes and braking frequency.
The Avatr 07 is a mid-size SUV with dimensions of 4825/1980/1620 mm and a wheelbase of 2940 mm. Chery has focused on optimizing the Avatr 07's design to reduce drag coefficient and enhance its aerodynamic efficiency. The vehicle adopts the New Emotive Luxury design concept, resulting in a sleek and stylish exterior.
The Avatr 07's intelligent driving system is powered by Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0, which utilizes 27 sensors, including a 192-line lidar. The cockpit, powered by Huawei's Harmony OS 4.0, features a four-screen layout consisting of a 35.4-inch integrated extra-long screen, a 15.6-inch horizontal central control screen, and two 6.7-inch screens at each end for streaming the digital side mirrors. The center console is equipped with wireless charging and cup holders.
The front seats are zero-gravity type, wrapped in Nappa leather, and offer 8-point massage and 16-way electric adjustment. The interior features 39 ambient light sources, with the longest light strip measuring 2854 mm. The audio system boasts 25 speakers with a peak power of 2016 W, and the panoramic sunroof covers an area of 1.1 square meters.
