BYD, a leading Chinese automotive manufacturer, has made a significant entrance into the European market with the introduction of its new electric light commercial vehicle (LCV), the E-Vali. Unveiled at the IAA Transportation 2024 in Hanover, Germany, the E-Vali is designed to meet the specific needs of last-mile deliveries and package transportation in Europe.
In addition to the E-Vali, BYD also showcased its electric truck family and the EYT 2.0 electric yard tractor for the first time at the event. This demonstrates the company's commitment to providing a comprehensive range of electric commercial vehicles for the European market.
The BYD E-Vali is a 3.5-ton/4.25-ton electric LCV that offers a practical and low-maintenance solution for European commercial fleets. Powered by BYD's advanced Blade Battery, the E-Vali delivers a range of 220-250 kilometers (WTLP) and can be fast-charged from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. The Blade Battery is known for its safety, durability, energy efficiency, and high power density.
To enhance driving safety and comfort, the E-Vali is equipped with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, and Hill Hold Control help drivers navigate various road conditions with confidence.
Inside the cabin, the E-Vali offers modern amenities and connectivity features. The dashboard integrates wireless charging and voice control, while the vehicle supports over-the-air (OTA) Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
The E-Vali boasts a spacious cargo area, with a maximum volume of 17.9 cubic meters. The 4.25-ton model can accommodate a payload of up to 1450 kilograms. Wide-opening rear doors, folding seats, and a tall interior height provide ample space for loading and transporting goods.
The BYD E-Vali is available in two sizes: the 3.5-ton model measures 5995/2096/2780 mm with a wheelbase of 3865 mm, while the 4.25-ton model measures 6995/2096/2780 mm with a wheelbase of 4550 mm.
