Cadillac has ushered in a new era of electric performance with the introduction of the 2026 Lyriq-V, the brand's first fully electric V-Series vehicle. This groundbreaking crossover boasts the distinction of being the quickest Cadillac ever produced, setting a new benchmark for the storied performance division.

While retaining the Lyriq's elegant design, the V-Series variant distinguishes itself with subtle yet impactful styling cues. A unique front fascia featuring a revised intake with a mesh insert, sportier side skirts, and additional body-colored trim enhance its aggressive stance. Designers further refined the aesthetic with a unique chin spoiler and the inclusion of prominent V-Series badges on the rear doors and tailgate. For those seeking an even more exclusive look, carbon fiber accents and a striking Magnus Metal Frost paint job are available. The Lyriq-V rides on 22-inch wheels with a dark finish and an etched V-Series logo, wrapped in high-performance summer tires (all-season tires are also available).

The Lyriq's acclaimed interior carries over to the V-Series with a touch of performance-oriented flair. Drivers are greeted by a unique steering wheel adorned with the V-Series logo and an aluminum Regen On Demand paddle. Special front seats and upholstery further enhance the driving experience. The 33-inch display, a hallmark of the Lyriq, retains its prominence, but with a "V-ified" infotainment experience tailored for the performance-minded driver. Premium touches like paperwood trim and illuminated V-Series door sill plates elevate the cabin ambiance. The Lyriq-V also introduces a first-in-Cadillac dual-plane augmented reality head-up display, enhancing both driver information and the overall driving experience. A fixed panoramic glass roof, Super Cruise driver-assistance technology, and a 23-speaker AKG audio system complete the luxurious and technologically advanced interior.

Powering this electric beast is a 102 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that feeds a potent dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. This setup unleashes an estimated 615 horsepower and a staggering 880 Nm of torque, figures inherited from the three-row Vistiq. However, the Lyriq-V boasts a significant weight advantage, tipping the scales at 2,713 kg, a substantial 156.9 kg lighter than its three-row sibling. This weight reduction translates to exhilarating performance, propelling the Lyriq-V from 0 to 96 km/h in an estimated 3.3 seconds in Velocity Max mode. This electrifying acceleration surpasses even the legendary CT5-V Blackwing, making it the quickest Cadillac ever produced. This performance prowess, however, comes at a slight range penalty. The estimated range of 459 km falls short of the 488 to 513 km achieved by other all-wheel-drive Lyriq models.

When the battery charge dwindles, a DC fast charger can replenish up to 121 km of range in just 10 minutes. Home charging options include a 7.7 kW AC charger providing up to 31 km of range per hour, an 11.5 kW charger offering up to 43 km per hour, and a more powerful 19.2 kW charger delivering up to 71 km of range per hour.

The performance enhancements extend beyond the powertrain. Engineers have implemented a quicker steering ratio and a lowered multi-link suspension with continuous damping control, ensuring both comfort and exhilarating handling dynamics. During a recent media briefing, Lyriq-V chief engineer Dave Stutzman emphasized that these modifications deliver a balance of comfort and "confidence and control" for spirited driving.

The Lyriq-V further accentuates its performance pedigree with advanced driving features. Launch Control and a customizable V-Mode enhance driver engagement, while a dedicated Competitive Mode unleashes a suite of traction management features specifically designed to maximize vehicle agility. Powerful Brembo front brakes, measuring an impressive 390 mm (nearly 71 mm larger than the standard model), provide exceptional stopping power. Red calipers adorned with the V-Series logo further enhance the visual appeal.

A key element of any V-Series vehicle is its distinctive sound. The Lyriq-V introduces a unique, multi-layered sound experience that can be enjoyed both inside and outside the vehicle. Drawing inspiration from the brand's LMDh race car, this innovative sound system utilizes speakers strategically placed throughout the cabin to create a dynamic and immersive audio experience. While this auditory enhancement can be customized to suit individual preferences, it can also be deactivated for those who prefer a quieter driving experience.

The 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V will be manufactured at the Spring Hill, Tennessee plant, with production commencing in the first quarter of this year. Priced at $79,990 including destination, the Lyriq-V offers a compelling value proposition, especially when compared to the starting price of $64,115 for the all-wheel-drive Lyriq. Moreover, it presents a more affordable alternative to the Tesla Model X Plaid, which starts at $94,990 while offering better range and performance.
