The Callum Skye, a much-anticipated electric vehicle, is inching closer to production, and the company has recently unveiled its minimalist interior design. While the car does incorporate a touchscreen display, reminiscent of the "iPad on the dash" trend, its overall aesthetic reflects Callum's design-focused heritage.
The Skye is a compact electric vehicle, measuring 4,047 mm in length. It is powered by a 42 kWh battery pack and features all-wheel drive, offering an estimated range of 274 km. Performance-wise, the Skye is expected to accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in under four seconds. The car is estimated to be priced between £80,000 and £110,000.
The interior design of the Skye is a standout feature. The stylish steering wheel, wrapped in leather and microfiber, is a notable element. The Vitamin C loop, a design motif echoed in the door pulls, adds a touch of vibrancy. The two-tone door design with satin gun metal grey accents further enhances the car's distinctive look. Additionally, the "deconstructed tartan" flourish, digitally printed on the leather pads, adds a unique touch.
The instrument cluster consists of large analog gauges, complemented by a small touchscreen display for infotainment purposes. The minimalist center console houses touchscreen rotary dials, a push-button shifter, and a few other essential controls. Two compact cup holders and stainless steel pedals with rubberized accents complete the interior.
Callum has also revealed that the Skye will feature Bridge of Weir semi-aniline leather sport seats with contrast stitching. The rear bench seat is removable, making it suitable for child passengers.
In a significant development, the latest Skye prototype showcases body panels made from a flax composite with bio-resin. Callum suggests that these sustainable panels could potentially be offered as an option on the production model.
As the Callum Skye progresses towards production, its distinctive design and eco-friendly approach continue to generate excitement in the automotive industry.
