Chery Fulwin T8 Debuts with 2000 Km Driving Range

Chery has officially announced the market launch of its Fulwin T8 plug-in hybrid SUV in China, scheduled for February 22nd. This highly anticipated vehicle, which entered pre-sale in January with a starting price of approximately 15,000 USD, will be available in six distinct trim levels and offer both five- and seven-seat configurations, catering to a diverse range of consumer preferences. The Fulwin T8 joins Chery's growing Fulwin series, specifically the T-family, which now encompasses four SUV models: the T6, T8, T9, and T10, reinforcing Chery's commitment to expanding its presence in the plug-in hybrid vehicle segment.

The Fulwin T8 boasts substantial dimensions, measuring 4730 mm in length, 1860 mm in width, and 1747 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2710 mm. This spacious design translates to a generous cargo capacity, with the trunk capable of expanding to an impressive 1930 liters, accommodating a wide range of storage needs.

The interior of the Fulwin T8 is designed to create a modern and immersive driving experience. Purple ambient lighting illuminates the cockpit, complementing the D-shaped steering wheel, a prominent 15.6-inch 2.5K floating center control screen, and a 10.25-inch rectangular full LCD instrument panel. At the heart of the cockpit lies Chery's Lion5.0 smart cockpit system, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, enabling advanced features such as an AI voice assistant. The vehicle also incorporates a level 2.9 intelligent driving assistance system, offering 18 safety functions, including lane departure assist, adaptive cruise control, and traffic jam assist, enhancing both safety and convenience for drivers.

The Fulwin T8's plug-in hybrid system offers two distinct engine configurations: a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and a 1.5T turbocharged engine, both paired with a front electric motor and a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). The naturally aspirated engine delivers a maximum power output of 101 horsepower and a peak torque of 125 Nm, while the turbocharged engine offers 154 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque. The front electric motor provides an additional 201 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. The vehicle's top speed is rated at 208 km/h.

The Fulwin T8 is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering two pure electric range options based on the CLTC standard: 65 km and 130 km. Chery has also announced a WLTC comprehensive range of up to 1,200 km. Notably, during real-world test drives, the Fulwin T8 achieved a remarkable comprehensive range of 2078.6 km with a full tank of fuel and a fully charged battery. The vehicle's WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption is rated at an impressive 1.3L/100km. Under fast charging conditions, the 1.5T trims can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in just 19 minutes, minimizing downtime and maximizing convenience. The release of the Fulwin T8 shows Chery’s dedication to providing efficient and technologically advanced vehicles.
