The Tiggo 9 C-DM is a new plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant, offering a cutting-edge alternative to the standard internal combustion engine (ICE) models in the Tiggo 9 series. Like its predecessor, the Tiggo 9 C-DM draws power from a 2.0T engine, paired with either a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT) or an Aisin 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT). This engine generates an impressive 257 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The vehicle supports three driving modes—economy, standard, and sport—allowing drivers to adapt their driving experience according to their needs. All available trims are front-wheel drive.

In terms of size, the 2025 Tiggo 9 retains the same dimensions as the 2024 model. The SUV measures 4,820 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,699 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. The design language follows what Chery calls “soft light aesthetics,” featuring a hexagonal front grille, through-type headlights, and multi-spoke rims. There is a notable change in the lower section of the front design, giving the vehicle a fresh and modern look while maintaining its imposing presence.

Inside the cabin, the 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 continues to impress with its high-tech features and luxurious feel. The interior includes a D-shaped multi-functional steering wheel, while the dual-screen setup integrates both the instrument panel and the central control screen. These screens are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, ensuring smooth performance for infotainment and navigation. Customers can choose between a five-seater (2+3) or a seven-seater (2+3+2) cabin configuration, allowing for flexibility in seating arrangements depending on individual needs.

The Tiggo 9 also comes packed with advanced features, enhancing both comfort and convenience. These include an openable panoramic sunroof, an electric tailgate, rain-sensing automatic wipers, and heated front seats. The driver’s seat offers six-way electric adjustment, while the co-pilot seat comes with four-way electric adjustment. Other features include a reversing radar, advanced driver assistance systems, integration with Huawei HiCar and Apple CarPlay, 50W wireless charging, ambient lighting, remote control capabilities, eight speakers, and an AI-powered cockpit interaction model.

The exterior of the Tiggo 9 C-DM closely mirrors that of the standard 2025 Tiggo 9, with the addition of two new green-shaded exterior paint options and a C-DM badge that identifies it as a hybrid model. This version is slightly taller than the standard Tiggo 9, with a height of 1,712 mm, while maintaining the same length, width, and wheelbase as the ICE version.

Under the hood, the Tiggo 9 C-DM is powered by Chery’s Kunpeng Super Performance Electric Hybrid C-DM system. This system combines a 1.5T hybrid engine with a front-mounted electric motor, and it is paired with a 3-speed Direct Hybrid Transmission (DHT). The hybrid engine delivers 154 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque, while the electric motor adds an additional 221 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque. This enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.8 seconds. The vehicle's ternary lithium battery has a capacity of 19.43 kWh, offering a pure electric range of 106 km under the CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) and a comprehensive range of over 1,400 km under the WLTC (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) when fully charged and refueled.

The Tiggo 9 C-DM also offers impressive charging capabilities. Under fast charging conditions, the battery can be recharged from 30% to 80% in just 25 minutes, while slow charging takes around 3.5 hours for a full charge. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a 6.6 kW VtoL (Vehicle to Load) mobile power station function, which enables the SUV to serve as a power source for external devices.

With these upgrades, the 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 and its hybrid variant, the Tiggo 9 C-DM, demonstrate Chery's commitment to innovation and providing versatile, high-performance SUVs to the global market.
