Chevrolet has released the Z06 GT3.R race vehicle just a few weeks after unveiling the new Corvette Z06. Although it is not a street-legal vehicle, the Z06 GT3.R race car is offered to all purchasers. It's the first time Chevrolet has made a turn-key race vehicle available to racing teams in such a large quantity. The GT3.R will essentially replace the Corvette C8.R, which has been utilized in a number of competitions.
The car will be powered by the same 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 used in the C8.R and Z06, although output will be limited to between 500 and 600 horsepower owing to racing rules.
The street car's dual-clutch eight-speed gearbox has been replaced with a six-speed sequential transaxle that drives the rear wheels. Double-wishbone suspension is also standard on the Corvette Z06 GT3.R. It also has six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers, which are designed specifically for motorsport.
The car also has a distinctive splitter, diving plans mounted to the front bumper, rocker panels, side skirts, narrow wing mirrors, and a massive diffuser, among other aerodynamic alterations.
Chevrolet doesn't indicate pricing for the Z06 GT3.R, but with the Z06 beginning at around $100,000, it's safe to assume it'll be in the $100,000+ area. Chevrolet has guaranteed that it will be ready to race in 2024.
