ABT Sportsline has released an upgrade package for the Cupra Leon. The kit is available for both the Hatchback and Sportstourer 2.0 TSI bodystyles.
They were able to extract up to 355 horsepower from the Cupra Leon and 365 hp from the more practical Cupra Leon Sportstourer by updating the ECU software. The torque is increased to 450 Nm in both versions. This increases their power by 49 hp and 50 Nm over the standard versions.
The Leon Hatchback has front-wheel-drive, but the Leon Sportstourer features a 4drive system that sends power to all four wheels via a 7-speed DSG transmission.
The performance statistics have not yet been announced by ABT, but they will be faster than the standard versions. In standard condition, the FWD Hatchback goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, while the AWD Sportstourer takes 4.7 seconds.
The Cupra Leon also received a beautiful set of 20-inch ABT Sport GR multispoke alloy wheels in matte or glossy black finish, shod in 235/30 R20 tires from the tuner. Finally, the stronger ABT suspension springs reduce the car's height by up to 30 mm.
The ABT tuning kit, which includes the power increase, wheels, and suspension, is available for $7,034 without installation. ABT may eventually provide an update for the Cupra Leon e-electrified Hybrid's 1.4 TSI engine.
