The second-generation BMW M2 has sparked considerable debate regarding its design. Many enthusiasts feel it appears awkward and out-of-proportion compared to its predecessor. Despite these design critiques, the consensus remains that it is a powerful sports car. German tuner Dahler has taken this formidable vehicle and pushed its performance boundaries even further.

Shortly after the latest M2 hit the market, Dahler introduced a Stage 1 upgrade package. They have now unveiled the Stage 2 upgrade, which not only significantly enhances the car's performance beyond the stock model but also surpasses the capabilities of the BMW M3 and even the current M8. The allure of a compact, rear-wheel-drive sports car with such impressive power is undeniable.

Dahler's enhancements began with the installation of a new Eventuri carbon fiber air intake and a stainless steel exhaust system. The software managing the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine has also been optimized. Interestingly, Dahler does not mention any internal engine upgrades or the addition of updated turbochargers.

The Stage 2 package by Dahler is designed for both the eight-speed automatic and six-speed manual versions of the M2. This upgrade delivers a remarkable 621 hp and 750 Nm of torque. Significant engine upgrades are often accompanied by necessary improvements to the suspension and braking systems. Dahler’s Stage 2 M2 includes coilovers at all four corners, offering adjustments for rebound, compression, and ride height. Alternatively, customers can choose simpler lowering springs. The car’s braking system has also been enhanced with sports brake linings and new Stahlflex brake lines, boosting the vehicle's already impressive stopping power.

A substantial portion of Dahler’s efforts has been directed toward the exterior aesthetics of the car. The M2 now features numerous unique carbon fiber components. The front end sports a three-piece carbon fiber splitter and new carbon fiber air intakes. Additionally, Dahler has streamlined the front grille with a single horizontal slat, added custom wing mirrors, and fitted a large fixed rear wing and a new diffuser. For those preferring a more understated look, a smaller lip spoiler is available. The engine bay also boasts carbon fiber detailing.

Inside, the cabin has been upgraded with a short shifter for the six-speed manual models, a heated Alcantara sports steering wheel, and new floor mats. These interior modifications complement the performance enhancements, ensuring that the driving experience is as refined as it is powerful.
