Daihatsu has unveiled its exciting lineup for the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon, with a particular focus on performance and motorsport.
A major highlight is the Mira e:S Turbo concept, a sporty take on the popular kei car. Designed to make the thrill of driving accessible to everyone, this concept features a turbocharged 660cc engine, promising a significant power boost over the standard model's 48 horsepower. While the exact output remains undisclosed, it's likely to surpass the 64 horsepower delivered by the Copen's turbocharged engine.
To enhance the driving experience, Daihatsu has equipped the Mira e:S Turbo with a five-speed manual transmission, replacing the standard CVT. The sporty exterior boasts a redesigned front bumper with aggressive intakes, a unique rear bumper, and eye-catching side gills. Completing the sporty transformation are BBS alloy wheels and a set of performance-oriented seats within the cabin.
The concept's striking visual cues, combined with the performance upgrades and the inclusion of Gazoo Racing emblems, strongly suggest that this could be a preview of a future production model.
Joining the Mira e:S Turbo concept will be the Mira e:S rally car, which competed in Rally Japan 2024. This race-ready version features a more aggressive bodykit with a vented hood and distinctive wheels. The interior has been stripped down for racing purposes, featuring racing bucket seats and a roll cage.
Daihatsu will also showcase the Copen GR Sport roadster in its racing configuration, along with the Hijet Truck Jumbo Extend, a versatile support vehicle for motorsport events.
Finally, the Hijet Truck Tool Base will be on display, demonstrating its practicality as a mobile toolkit for construction sites. This unique vehicle includes a deployable sunshade tent, providing a comfortable resting area for workers.
The Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 is set to take place from January 10th to 12th, offering visitors a chance to experience these exciting vehicles firsthand.
