Recently, Mini Vision Urbanaut, a digital multifunctional electronic vehicle concept, has been revealed by one of the most beloved carmakers, Mini. Of course it might look a bit unusual, but it is also too cool to be true. According to Mini, the successful British company, this new concept is only a digital study, but is also a glance of the future ahead of the automotive industry.
Mini Vision Urbanaut’s body surface, is smooth and virtually seamless. The overhangs are short and its wheels are positioned at the outer corners. Maybe that’s why this prototype is so weird, the proportions. Mini doesn’t agree with use of course. It says that the proportions are exactly the reason that the appearance is so “compact and agile.”
The cabin is designed not only to offer a nice and comfortable space for driving but also to present a cozy living space. As the company says, the interior can turn into a compact space for living.
There are three modes for customization and are called ‘Mini moments.’ They include ‘Chill’, ‘Wanderlust’ and ‘Vibe’. You can activate them through ‘Mini Tokens’.
Adrian Hooydonk, the design boss at the BMW Group says:
“The Mini brand has always stood for 'Clever Use of Space'. In the Mini Vision Urbanaut, we extend private space far into the public realm, creating completely new and enriching experiences.”
Unfortunately, Mini has not revealed the exact specs of Mini Vision Urbanaut. We don’t know much about the powertrain, but we know it’s going to be purely electric. The powertrain is probably combined with autonomous features.
The bad news is that there are no actual plans to produce this car.
