Introducing the all-new 2025 Kia K4, unveiled at the 2024 New York International Motor Show, marking a significant transition as it supplants the Forte in Kia's sedan lineup. Embracing Kia's revamped naming strategy, the K4 embodies the brand's innovative "Opposites United" design philosophy, injecting a fresh perspective into the sedan segment.

For U.S. consumers, the Kia K4 offers two petrol engine options to cater to diverse preferences. The base model features a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine, delivering 147 horsepower and 179 Nm of torque, mirroring the power output of the entry-level 2024 Forte. Power is channeled to the front wheels through an "Intelligently Variable Transmission," a refined iteration of the CVT drivetrain. Alternatively, enthusiasts seeking heightened performance can opt for the turbocharged 1.6-liter variant, generating 190 horsepower and 264 Nm of torque. Although slightly less powerful than its predecessor, the 1.6 turbo in the Forte, torque remains consistent. Turbocharged models also benefit from an 8-speed automatic transmission for enhanced driving dynamics.

For optimal handling, the GT-Line or GT-Line Turbo models offer superior performance. Alongside the signature GT-Line aesthetics, such as 18-inch wheels and sleek black accents, these models are equipped with a multilink rear suspension system, elevating both handling and comfort levels. Models outfitted with larger 18-inch rims receive acoustic tires to minimize road noise, while all K4 variants feature an acoustic windshield for enhanced cabin tranquility.

Safety remains a paramount focus for Kia, with the K4 boasting advanced active safety features typically found in higher segments. Lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and collision avoidance systems come standard, with the optional inclusion of Evasive Steering Assist, which intervenes to steer the vehicle away from potential collisions. The K4 offers a comprehensive suite of 29 ADAS features alongside standard passive safety measures, including eight airbags.

The K4's contemporary design was showcased to global media, demonstrating its seamless integration with Kia's existing lineup, such as the angular EV9. Sporting a sleek "fast-back" roofline without compromising interior spaciousness, the K4 boasts a substantial footprint, measuring 185.4 inches in length and 72.8 inches in width, making it the largest and widest compact sedan in its class.

Interior amenities include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with NFC-enabled smart device integration for convenient access and operation. The inclusion of the "Hey Kia" voice assistant streamlines user interaction, while enhancements in processing power and over-the-air updates, inspired by the EV9, ensure cutting-edge connectivity.
