FAW-VW ID.7 VIZZION officially launched in China's Electric Market

On December 15, FAW–Volkswagen unveiled the ID.7 VIZZION, signaling a significant move in their collaboration with SAIC-VW. Priced at $32,000, this electric powerhouse comes in three models, reflecting the nuanced styling differences characteristic of this joint venture with local manufacturers. The ID.7 VIZZION aligns seamlessly with the VW ID family design, featuring a hatchback body with integrated hidden door handles.

Sizing up at 4956mm in length, 1862mm in width, and 1537mm in height, with a spacious wheelbase of 2965mm, the ID.7 VIZZION's standout feature is the SkyView canopy on the roof. Engineered to block 99% of ultraviolet rays and over 83% of heat, it enhances both aesthetics and functionality.

Under the hood, the ID.7 VIZZION packs an 84.8kWh NMC battery, offering a choice between a single-motor rear-wheel drive and a dual-motor four-wheel drive. The two-wheel drive model impressively achieves a CLTC range of 642km, while the four-wheel drive variant delivers 570km. The pre-sale debut features a single-motor rear-wheel drive, boasting 150kW peak power and 310Nm peak torque.

Safety is paramount, with a construction incorporating 32% hot-formed steel, a torsional stiffness of 46100N·m/deg, and advanced safety systems like the SOS driver disability situation-EmergencyAssist 3.0 and AEB automatic emergency braking. The vehicle also boasts a 360-degree panoramic image + PDC parking assistance for enhanced parking safety.

Inside, the ID.7 VIZZION boasts a 15-inch 2K floating screen and an AR HUD guidance system. Powered by the new-generation car system ID OS 2.0, it integrates iFlytek voice technology for a cutting-edge user experience. Additional features include the Air hidden air-conditioning system, adapting to light changes, and a Harman Kardon audio system with 16-channel speakers. The assisted driving system 3.0 introduces an interactive lane change assistance function and supports IPA + TPA parking.

Despite Volkswagen's current 4% market share in China's electric vehicle landscape, trailing behind BYD and Tesla, the ID.7 VIZZION, with its competitive pricing and rich features, aims to elevate Volkswagen's standing in this dynamic market.
