Fiat has just launched their latest model, the 500e Inspired By Los Angeles. Despite being called a "special edition," it doesn't have much to set it apart from other 500e models, and it comes with a price tag of $36,000 plus an additional $1,595 for the destination fee.
Similar to earlier versions of the 500e, this Los Angeles-inspired edition features a 42 kWh battery that powers an electric motor. This motor delivers 117 horsepower and 219 Nm of torque. With this configuration, the car can go from 0 to 96 km/h in 8.5 seconds, reach an estimated top speed of 151 km/h, and travel up to 240 km on a single charge.
What makes this new trim edition stand out is mainly its exclusive Marine Layer Mist paint color. This silvery shade is named after the coastal marine layer in Southern California, which is a weather pattern resulting from different air masses interacting. This phenomenon, common from May to June, gives Los Angeles its unique and enchanting atmosphere. In addition to the special paint, the LA Edition also features matte gray mirror caps and black window trim. The car rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that can be fitted with either summer or all-season tires.
Inside the car, there's a two-tone interior featuring beige eco-leather seats and a "soft-touch" steering wheel. The interior also includes body-color trim and a seven-speaker JBL audio system complete with a subwoofer. Additional features include a wireless smartphone charger, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Fiat has also equipped this model with a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist for added convenience and safety.
This electric vehicle is expected to be available at U.S. dealerships in the third quarter of the year and will be the fourth model in Fiat's product lineup.
