These groundbreaking vehicles represent the tangible realization of Flexis's vision for the future of delivery and transportation. All three models are built upon a shared, cutting-edge electric skateboard platform, incorporating a common electronic architecture that streamlines development and maintenance while offering a high degree of flexibility.
A key feature of this platform is its adaptability, allowing for customized interior configurations to meet the specific needs of various businesses and applications. Furthermore, the vans boast a remarkably low floor height, a practical design element that significantly simplifies and expedites the loading and unloading of goods, optimizing delivery efficiency.
Flexis has emphasized the impressive performance capabilities of these new vans, highlighting a projected WLTP range of up to 450 kilometers on a single charge. This substantial range addresses a critical concern for commercial vehicle operators, enabling extended operations without the need for frequent recharging. Complementing this extended range is a fast-charging capability that allows for rapid replenishment of the battery, achieving an 80% charge in under 20 minutes. This quick turnaround time minimizes downtime and maximizes vehicle utilization, a crucial factor in the fast-paced world of urban logistics. Beyond performance, Flexis has prioritized driver well-being, recognizing the demanding nature of delivery work. The driver's seat has been ergonomically designed and strategically positioned to mitigate knee strain, a common complaint among drivers who may enter and exit their vehicles hundreds of times each day. While Flexis has provided a glimpse into the features of each van, they have been selective in releasing detailed specifications. The Step-in model is a medium-sized van distinguished by its innovative sliding front doors and a rear shutter door, a feature touted as a first for the European market. This unique combination of doors facilitates easy access to the cargo area and streamlines the loading and unloading process. The Step-in's interior height of 1,900 mm allows drivers to comfortably stand and move within the cargo space, further enhancing operational efficiency. The Cargo Van is specifically designed for last-mile delivery in urban environments. Its standout feature is an "easily convertible box" that offers unparalleled versatility. This adaptable cargo space can be configured to accommodate different widths, heights, and bed layouts, and can seamlessly integrate modular solutions such as refrigerated compartments, catering to a wide range of cargo types and delivery requirements. The Cargo Van also incorporates traditional front doors and a low cab height for easy access and maneuverability.
Perhaps the most intriguing of the trio is the Panel Van, which appears poised to compete with established players in the commercial vehicle market. While Flexis has remained somewhat reserved in its description, they have hinted at superior maneuverability, a crucial attribute for navigating congested city streets. The Panel Van shares the 1,900 mm overall height with the Step-in, and Flexis claims its "multi-purpose design addresses all limitations of current market offerings." Adding to its appeal, the Panel Van boasts a contemporary and aesthetically pleasing design, a departure from the often utilitarian appearance of commercial vehicles. Production of these innovative vans will take place at Renault's Sandouville plant, with initial deliveries scheduled for 2026. Flexis will employ a dual sales strategy, selling vehicles directly to fleet operators and logistics providers, while also supplying them to Renault, who will then distribute them under their own brand through their established sales networks.
The development and testing of these vans have been extensive. Twenty prototypes have been rigorously tested, accumulating over 9,000 hours of driving since March of last year. This real-world testing provides valuable data and ensures the vehicles' reliability and performance. Furthermore, Flexis has announced that they have secured ten letters of intent from prominent logistics providers in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, including Colis Privé, DB Schenker, and HIVED.
