G-Power Unleashes Extreme BMW XM

In a performance SUV segment already packed with heavy-hitters, the BMW XM has never blended quietly into the crowd although not always for reasons the brand might prefer. Since its global launch in 2022, this bold and polarizing M Division flagship has frequently attracted the attention of tuning companies eager to elevate both its visual drama and raw performance.

One of the most striking reinterpretations of the XM comes from German tuning specialist G-Power. The firm has taken BMW’s already potent plug-in hybrid SUV and transformed it into an even more extreme creation, pairing formidable mechanical upgrades with aggressive styling elements. The centerpiece of this transformation is a significant boost in output: the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 hybrid system now delivers an eye-opening 937 horsepower and 1,400 Nm of torque a huge leap from the standard XM’s 738 hp and 1,000 Nm.

This performance enhancement was achieved through targeted software recalibration of the factory ECU, optimizing parameters such as boost pressure and ignition timing. Alongside the power increase, G-Power has lifted the SUV’s top speed limit from 270 km/h to an even 300 km/h, putting it on par with some of the fastest high-performance SUVs currently available, including the Lamborghini Urus Performante and Aston Martin DBX707.

The upgrades aren’t just about numbers. G-Power has equipped the XM with a more vocal exhaust system featuring sports downpipes and 200-cell catalytic converters. These components not only heighten the soundtrack but also remain compliant with stringent Euro 6 emissions regulations, ensuring the SUV remains road-legal across Europe.

For the exterior, G-Power partnered with Mansory to install a full carbon fiber bodykit. The package includes intricate trim for the front bumper’s air intakes, an aerodynamic splitter, a reshaped hood cover, extended fender flares, pronounced side skirts, a sculpted rear diffuser, and a bold roof-mounted spoiler. Finished in a vivid shade of orange contrasted with deep black accents, the SUV’s presence is further amplified by massive 23-inch Hurricane RR alloy wheels in a glossy jet-black finish. While G-Power hasn’t showcased the interior of this specific build, the company notes that it offers a complete custom “G-Power interior refit” for clients seeking a personalized cabin.

Although this 937-hp XM appears to be a bespoke commission, G-Power has other upgrade options for XM owners. These include a package producing 838 hp and 1,100 Nm, and another pushing output to 888 hp and 1,150 Nm. The tuner is also developing an even more extreme 1,000-hp version featuring their full Deeptone exhaust system. Additionally, G-Power confirms that similar performance kits will be offered for the G90 M5 sedan and G99 M5 Touring, which share the same plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain. Pricing remains undisclosed, with interested buyers encouraged to contact the company directly.
