Geome, the entry-level electric vehicle brand under Geely, has recently introduced a new contender to the popular BYD Dolphin. Dubbed the Xingyuan EV, this compact electric hatchback is poised to offer a compelling alternative, particularly given its anticipated starting price of around 80,000 yuan, or approximately $11,200. The Xingyuan EV sports a design that is both cute and approachable, appealing to a broad range of consumers. Its aesthetic is characterized by several key design elements, such as flush door handles, rounded taillights, and black plastic trim along the lower sections of the vehicle’s body. Geely has also formed a unique partnership with Haagen-Dazs, offering customers the option to choose from a variety of car colors inspired by the brand’s ice cream flavors. These colors include Basil Green, Berry Powder, Mousse Silver, Truffle Grey, Milk White, Sea Salt Blue, and Vanilla Beige, adding a playful touch to the car’s overall appearance.

Despite its affordable starting price, the interior of the Xingyuan EV is impressively equipped with modern features. Dominating the dashboard is a large infotainment screen that serves as the main hub for navigation, media, and vehicle controls. Additionally, there is a smaller screen dedicated to the instrument cluster. One of the standout design touches in the cabin is the illuminated graphics of a cityscape that adorn the passenger side of the dashboard and the door panels, adding a creative and stylish flair to the interior. Practical features are also well-thought-out, with two wireless smartphone charging pads, two cup holders, and a two-spoke steering wheel included as standard.

In terms of performance, the Geome Xingyuan EV is available in two battery and motor configurations. The entry-level model comes with a 30.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, paired with a single electric motor producing 78 horsepower. This version delivers an estimated range of 310 kilometers on the CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle). For those seeking a bit more power and range, there is a higher-spec model available, equipped with a larger 40.16 kWh LFP battery and a more powerful electric motor generating 114 horsepower. This configuration extends the vehicle’s range to a claimed 410 kilometers, making it a practical option for longer trips or daily commutes.

With its combination of affordable pricing, modern features, and eye-catching design, the Geome Xingyuan EV offers a compelling alternative in the entry-level electric vehicle market, particularly for consumers in China.
