Geely has officially launched the Galaxy L7 EM-i, a hybrid SUV available in four different trims. This vehicle is equipped with Geely’s latest NordThor hybrid technology and features the advanced Flyme Auto smart cockpit system.
The Galaxy L7 EM-i is an enhanced version of the standard Galaxy L7. The exterior design retains the original model’s structure, incorporating a continuous LED headlight strip at the front and a closed grille panel. Notably, the rear of the vehicle now features the EM-i logo, differentiating it from the base model.
In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy L7 EM-i measures 4,710 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,785 mm, making it 10 cm longer than the standard Galaxy L7. Depending on the selected trim, the curb weight varies between 1,810 kg and 1,890 kg, reflecting different equipment levels.
Inside, the cabin layout remains largely the same as the standard Galaxy L7, with a focus on high-tech features. The vehicle is powered by the Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system, providing a seamless user experience. Standard across all trims is a four-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13.2-inch central touchscreen, and a 16.2-inch entertainment display for the front passenger. These screens support dual-screen interaction, multi-tasking, CarLink, and Hicar mobile phone integration. Interestingly, Geely has opted for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset to power the infotainment system, instead of using its in-house Dragon Eagle-1 chip. Buyers can select from two interior color themes: brown and gray.
The Galaxy L7 EM-i is powered by Geely’s new-generation NordThor EM-i hybrid system, which includes two different powertrain configurations:
- The first variant features a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine producing 110 hp and 136 Nm of torque, combined with an electric motor generating 215 hp and 262 Nm. This setup is paired with an E-DHT transmission and an 18.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, providing a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 115 km.
- The second option includes a 1.5T turbocharged engine delivering 161 hp and 255 Nm, coupled with a 143 hp and 338 Nm electric motor. It is paired with a 3DHT Pro transmission and an 18.7 kWh LFP battery pack, also offering a CLTC electric range of 115 km.
The hybrid system achieves an impressive WLTC fuel consumption of 1.05 to 1.3 liters per 100 km, with a total driving range of 1,240 km. Additionally, Geely states that fast charging can boost the battery from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, while a full charge using slow charging takes approximately 2.7 to 3 hours.
For a limited time, the price of the new model ranges from 115,800 to 148,800 yuan ($16,000 to $20,500).
