Since its debut in 2011, the Haval H6 has become a significant player in the automotive market, with cumulative sales exceeding 4 million units. Great Wall Motor has introduced a new addition to the Haval H6 lineup—the Classic Edition—which is slated to be officially launched on yesterday. This move is seen as a strategic addition to the H6 series, further cementing its place in the competitive SUV market.

From the official images, the Haval H6 Classic Edition retains the design cues of the third-generation Haval H6. This decision is noteworthy, considering the recent launch of the fourth-generation Haval H6, which introduced a redesigned exterior. The Classic Edition, however, sticks to a familiar design language, featuring a front polygonal grille with a silver mesh structure, traditional pull-out door handles, roof racks, and an openable sunroof. It also sports 18-inch five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels and through-type taillights, maintaining the look that has made the H6 a popular choice. For reference, the pricing of the third-generation Haval H6 ranges between $16,400 and $21,100, which provides a benchmark for the expected cost of the Classic Edition.

Although the exact body dimensions of the Classic Edition have not been officially disclosed yet, it is expected to follow closely the dimensions of the third-generation model. For context, the third-generation Haval H6 measures 4,653 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width, and 1,730 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,738 mm. These dimensions provide a spacious and comfortable interior, making it a strong contender in the midsize SUV segment.

Inside the cabin, the Haval H6 Classic Edition mirrors the layout of the third-generation model, offering a blend of modern technology and comfort. It comes with a 10.25-inch floating LCD instrument panel and a 12.3-inch floating central control screen, both of which provide easy access to vehicle information and entertainment features. The central console houses a rotary gear selector and a wireless charging pad, adding to the vehicle’s modern appeal. The three-spoke steering wheel design is also carried over from the previous model, maintaining a familiar feel for H6 enthusiasts.

The interior of the Classic Edition is designed for comfort, with seats covered in premium leather materials. Other notable features include an electrically adjustable driver seat, front seat heating, rear air-conditioning vents, rear USB ports, over-the-air (OTA) updates, mobile phone control capabilities, and voice recognition technology, all contributing to a convenient and connected driving experience.

Haval H6 Classic Edition

In terms of performance, the Haval H6 Classic Edition is expected to be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, producing 181 horsepower and a peak torque of 275 Nm. This engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), the same powertrain as the third-generation Haval H6 1.5T variant. The vehicle can reach a top speed of 190 km/h, and its WLTC fuel consumption is rated at 7.13 liters per 100 kilometers. It remains unclear if a 2.0T variant will be available, as Haval has yet to release the full specifications and options.

Additionally, reports indicate that the Classic Edition has already arrived at some dealerships in China, with only one trim level expected to be offered. Compared to the third-generation H6, the Classic Edition has seen some feature reductions, including the removal of the head-up display, emergency lane keep assist, lane change assist, reversing warning, and door opening warning. These omissions suggest a focus on maintaining affordability while still offering the core features that make the Haval H6 a popular choice among buyers. The official powertrain details and final specifications will be revealed by Haval at the time of the Classic Edition’s launch.
