Hennessey debuted the first production Venom F5 supercar at the Amelia Island Concours this past weekend. The hypercar, powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V8 engine of 1,817 horsepower, promises a 0-60 time of fewer than three seconds and a maximum speed of 311 miles per hour.
A sub-F5 will likely be the next logical move, similar to Koenigsegg, McLaren, and some of Hennessey's closest high-end rivals in the room. But it's not that easy for a small business like Hennessey with little capital.
"It's a matter of scaling demand for us,"
The car seen here should be available to customers shortly, although other examples are currently being developed and will hit the road later this year. Hennessey has only sold 21 of the expected 24 examples, with about 60% of orders remaining in the United States with the remaining 40% going to markets such as Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
Each Venom F5 starts at a staggering $2.1 million, with consumers able to customize their vehicles in a variety of ways ranging from interior to paint, tires, and much more.
