In terms of appearance, the Hongqi HS7 PHEV closely resembles its gasoline-powered counterpart. It retains the signature large waterfall grille and the distinctive split headlight design. The PHEV variant is uniquely equipped with 20-inch low-drag wheels paired with 235/55 R20 tires. The only notable exterior change is the inclusion of a PHEV badge on the rear. The HS7 is a mid to large-sized SUV with dimensions of 4995 mm in length, 1960 mm in width, and 1760 mm in height, and it features a wheelbase of 2920 mm.

Inside the HS7 PHEV, the cabin is equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel and a head-up display. A prominent feature is the 12.6-inch portrait-oriented central infotainment screen integrated into the dashboard. The interior design leans towards a traditional aesthetic with a predominantly black color scheme complemented by metal accents. Standard features include a 12-speaker Dynaudio audio system, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, as well as heated and ventilated front seats. The vehicle also comes with air conditioning vents for all three rows. The HS7 PHEV will offer level-two driving assistance features and will be available in both six- and seven-seat configurations.

The vehicle supports various driving modes including pure electric, four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive options, series hybrid, energy recovery, and parallel hybrid modes.

The HS7 PHEV is equipped with a 20.1 kWh battery pack from CATL, which utilizes ternary lithium battery technology. It offers an all-electric range of 100 km under the CLTC cycle and a total combined range of 1,102 km. The vehicle is fitted with a 1-speed DHT hybrid transmission.
