In Brazil, Hyundai unveiled the redesigned HB20. Hyundai HB20 is exclusively designed for the Brazilian market. The HB20's first generation was released in 2012, while the second generation was released in 2019. Although the new model closely resembles the Hyundai i20, it is a completely distinct car. Major design revisions are present in the redesigned HB20.
The Brazilian market's most popular passenger vehicle, the supermini, will receive a significant boost with its 2022 facelift.
The facelifted HB20's engine lineup now features two 1.0-liter engines, with the previous 1.6-liter model being retired. A five-speed manual transmission is the only option for the base naturally aspirated 1.0-liter Kappa MPi three-cylinder engine, which has 79 horsepower.
There is also the more powerful 1.0-liter TGDi three-cylinder turbocharged engine, which generates 118 horsepower and may be paired with either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. There are no rear-wheel-drive HB20 variations.
The HB20's front end features an enormous grille extension, fake side intakes that resemble those on the i20, as well as integrated turn signals and foglights. The bonnet also has an i20-inspired design. The 16-inch wheels on the HB20 have a new design, and there are more color choices too. With full-width LED taillights, an updated tailgate, and a new rear bumper, the back has undergone a complete overhaul.
Inside the cabin, changes are less noticeable because the dashboard and the up to 8-inch infotainment touchscreen have a familiar design.
A new digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a reversing camera, USB ports, a wireless charging pad, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, remote control features (Bluelink), voice recognition, and a combination of leather and fabric upholstery are all included in high-end trims.
In terms of security, the facelifted HB20 now includes hill-start aid, traction control, ESP, and six airbags as standard equipment. Lane-keeping assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot assistance are just a few of the optional features offered by the Hyundai SmartSense ADAS suite.
Prices for the updated HB20 in Brazil start at $14,603, and orders may be placed right now. Hyundai only released images of the five-door hatchback (HB20), but identical images are also anticipated for the four-door sedan (HB20S) and the crossover (HB20X).
