Hyundai Tucson Named Best Medium SUV Under $50K

The Hyundai Tucson SUV, recently awarded the 2025 Drive Best Medium SUV under $50K, is currently available for sale with attractive discounts of up to $4100 across its entire range, offered until June 30. The largest discount applies to the Tucson Elite N-Line AWD petrol model, which is now priced at $51,990 drive-away, a reduction from its usual price of $51,100 before on-road costs. In 2025, the Tucson remains Hyundai's second most popular model in Australia, following only the smaller Hyundai Kona SUV.

These drive-away prices are applicable to all 17 variants of the five-seat Tucson, which competes against rivals like the Toyota RAV4, Mitsubishi Outlander, and Nissan X-Trail SUVs. The savings on each model average around $3268, which is the difference between the standard list price and the price offered including on-road costs.

The base Tucson, powered by a 115kW/192Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, is now priced at $39,990 drive-away, offering a saving of $3588. Standard features on this entry-level model include keyless entry, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging, climate control, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Hyundai Tucson

The hybrid version of the Tucson starts at $46,990 drive-away, which provides a saving of $2810. It features a combination of a 1.6-litre petrol engine and an electric motor, producing a total of 172kW/367Nm, supported by a 1.5kWh battery. Standard features for the hybrid model are similar to the base version, including keyless entry, wireless charging, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

For a sportier driving experience, the Tucson N-Line begins at $45,990 drive-away for the 132kW/265Nm 1.6-litre petrol variant, while the hybrid version is priced at $50,990 drive-away. The luxury-oriented Tucson Elite, with a front-wheel-drive 2.0-litre engine, is now $44,990 drive-away, reflecting a $3760 discount. The 1.6-litre version of the Elite starts at $46,990, with all-wheel drive adding an extra $2500. The hybrid Elite version starts at $51,990 for the two-wheel-drive model, with the all-wheel-drive hybrid version priced an additional $2500 higher.

The Tucson Elite N-Line starts at $49,490 for two-wheel drive and $51,990 for all-wheel drive, both equipped with the 1.6-litre petrol engine. For those opting for the hybrid powertrain, the price increases by $5000. At the top of the range, the Tucson Premium is priced at $58,490 with the 1.6-litre engine and $4000 more for the hybrid version. The Premium N-Line with the same engine costs $59,990, while the top-tier Premium N-Line hybrid model is priced at $63,990 drive-away. All Tucson models come with a five-year unlimited kilometre warranty.
