Ineos Grenadier Interior Revealed, It's Frankstein

Ineos Automotive finally shows the boxy form and real 4x4 cabin of the Grenadier. It's a dramatic contrast from current body-on-frame SUVs, with hefty switchgear that provides shortcuts to almost everything you need without having to navigate through many sub-menus in the touchscreen.

In terms of measurements, the Grenadier is 4,927 mm long with the spare wheel at the back, 1,930 mm width with the mirrors included, and 2,033 mm height, with a wheelbase of 2,922 mm.

Pre-wired auxiliary switches, similar to the Ford Bronco, are used to connect winches, work lights, camping gear, and other accessories. The switches are situated in the overhead console, which also houses the controls for the front/rear differential locks and the offroad mode.

Another feature it has with the Bronco is the ability to wash off the inside, owing to drain ports in the rubber flooring and wipe-down seat fabric on the stain-resistant Recaro seats. Grenadier receives a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an iDrive-style rotary knob, as well as a smartphone connection with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Because the SUV is powered by a BMW engine coupled to a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox used in many Bavarian vehicles, the gear lever for the automatic transmission appears familiar. With huge grab grips on the A-pillar and dashboard, you can tell this vehicle is serious about off-roading.

The passenger vehicle can seat five people, and a two-seat business variant is also in the works. Ineos designed the Grenadier to accept an optional Power Pack with a 2,000-watt AC converter to power electric tools and equipment. Speaking of optional options, those nifty glass roof panels can tilt and be removed altogether.

The Grenadier will be powered by straight-six BMW gasoline and diesel engines and will come standard with permanent all-wheel drive, a two-speed transfer case, and three differential locks. The B58 gasoline engine will generate 281 horsepower and 450 Newton-meters of torque, while the B57 diesel engine will provide 245 horsepower and 550 Newton-meters of torque.

The SUV will be equipped with 17- and 18-inch steel and alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone All-Terrain or BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires.

Ineos will begin accepting bookings in October, with customer deliveries beginning in July 2022.
