In a move to keep the Isuzu MU-X competitive, Isuzu has unveiled a refreshed version in Thailand. This update brings a sleeker design, a more technologically advanced interior, and some new features, all while retaining the MU-X's core functionality as a tough and capable SUV.

The most noticeable change is on the outside. The front end gets a complete makeover with a larger grille, sharper LED headlights, and more aggressive bumper designs. A new RS trim level joins the lineup, boasting a sportier look with a chrome grille, blacked-out elements like wheels and fender flares, and lime green accents. The rear of the car also gets revisions with new LED taillights and a redesigned bumper.

Stepping inside, the MU-X gets a significant upgrade in technology and comfort. The instrument cluster now features a new 7-inch display, while the infotainment system is upgraded to a larger 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The seats and door cards are redesigned to create a more premium feel, and the RS trim adds a touch of sportiness with black inserts and red ambient lighting. The top-of-the-line Ultimate trim offers a luxurious feel with truffle brown leather upholstery.

Under the hood, the familiar Isuzu turbodiesel engines remain. The base model gets a 1.9-liter engine producing 148 horsepower, while a more powerful 3.0-liter option with 187 horsepower is available. Most models are rear-wheel drive, but the top-tier RS trim comes standard with a four-wheel-drive system for those who plan on venturing off-road. All models come paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Safety is also a priority for the refreshed MU-X. Isuzu has added a new camera system that supports a variety of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like lane keeping assist, traffic jam assist, and adaptive cruise control. Depending on the trim level, features like blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic brake are also available. An extra helpful feature for off-road driving is a surround view monitor that displays a 360-degree view of the vehicle's surroundings, including what's directly underneath.

The facelifted MU-X is now available for order in Thailand, with a rollout to other markets expected soon. Pricing starts at $32,300 for the base model and goes up to $47,987 for the top-tier RS trim with the larger engine and four-wheel drive. This positions the MU-X competitively against rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in the truck-based SUV segment.
