Another teaser for Lexus' future completely electric SUV has been released. Following the official pictures released earlier this year, the RZ reveals its back end once more. Everything is in place for the big launch on April 20. Lexus has published a new promotional film for the RZ 450e, which will be unveiled on April 20.
The RZ is nothing more than a more upscale and premium variant of the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra. The Lexus version of this electric SUV will have a more dramatic exterior design, emphasized by the latest generation of the brand's spindle grille, which will be closed-off.
The latest iteration of the marque's spindle grille with a closed-off appearance stands out. As seen in earlier teaser shots, the sharp-edged headlamps on each side touch the middle piece of the fascia, and above them is a highly wrinkled hood.
It will have a yoke steering wheel, similar to the one used on the bZ4X. Lexus has also given the EV a new infotainment screen that is better integrated into the dashboard than Toyota and Subaru.
The bZ4X isn't expected to make any big alterations under the hood. The Toyota offers a 71.4 kWh single-motor powertrain with 201 horsepower and a range of 406 kilometers, as well as a 72.8 kWh dual-motor version with 214 horsepower and a range of 367 kilometers on a single charge, though we'll have to wait and see whether the Lexus uses both or just the dual-motor version.
The Lexus RZ 450e will be unveiled online on April 20 with pricing and availability information.
