Mercedes-AMG, struggling in this year's Formula 1 Championship, has introduced a limited-edition AMG GT Coupe to celebrate their performance. The Motorsport Collectors Edition, based on the high-performance GT 63 Pro 4 Matic+, features a livery inspired by the team's 2023 and 2024 F1 cars.
The special edition boasts a striking exterior with Obsidian Black metallic paint, hand-painted stars, and bright aquamarine stripes. These accents are prominently displayed on the side window graphics, sills, wheel rims, front bumper air intakes, and brake calipers. The interior also reflects the F1 theme with illuminated door sills, ambient lighting, and sports seats finished in Nappa leather and microfiber cloth.
While the design elements pay homage to the team's F1 involvement, the powertrain remains unchanged from the standard GT 63 Pro 4 Matic+. The 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine continues to deliver 603 horsepower, ensuring impressive performance with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 317 km/h.
The Motorsport Collectors Edition is limited to 200 units, and pricing is expected to be significantly higher than the standard model. While the special edition is a unique way for Mercedes-AMG to acknowledge their F1 performance, its appeal may be limited to dedicated fans and collectors.
