The M7 is the second model under the Aito name that Seres and Huawei jointly manage in China. The Aito M5, the company's first vehicle, was introduced this year. Now that information about the second model, which is also a bigger and higher model, is available.
With dimensions of 5,020 mm in length, 1,945 mm in width, 1,775 mm in height, and a 2,820 mm wheelbase, the Aito M7 is a large SUV.
A tiny black grille and an LED light strip join the headlights of the Aito M7 together. On either side of the bumper are little vertical air curtains and a larger black grille with silver-finished horizontal strakes. Pop-out door handles and rear LED light strip are additional visual elements.
The M7's interior features a big 15.6-inch infotainment screen with Huawei's HarmonyOS operating system and a large landscape-oriented 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The M7 also has two wireless phone charging stations, a crystal gear shifter reminiscent of a Volvo, and wood trim that covers the dashboard and door panels. A 19-speaker audio system and heated, cooled, and massaged seats in the front and second rows are two further cabin highlights. For interior leather, customers can select from Amber Brown, Polar Night Black, Spring Apricot, and Ivory White. The car comes with three rows of seats as standard so it is capable of carrying 6 passengers in comfort.
The M7's engine is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 125 horsepower. This engine is solely there to generate power as a range extender to charge the battery; it does not provide any torque to the wheels.
A single electric motor with 272 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque is located at the back axle of entry-level vehicles. The top-tier model has two electric motors that produce a combined 449 horsepower and 660 Nm.
According to the automaker, the AWD model accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, while the single-motor version does it in 7.8 seconds.
There is a 40 kWh battery in both versions from CATL. The single motor variant has an all-electric range of up to 195 km and a range-extended range of 1,100 km. The M7 AWD's range numbers are 165 km and 1,000 km, respectively.
The Aito M7 costs between $47,780 and $56,720 in China. 20,000 orders were confirmed in the first four hours of its launch, demonstrating the car's popularity with consumers.
