Mazda MX-30 Mild Hybrid Revealed In Japan With A Different Engine

While Mazda MX-30 is on sale in Europe is a fully electric vehicle but the automaker decided to sell this compact crossover with a mild-hybrid internal combustion engine in its homeland.

The mild-hybrid version of Mazda MX-30 benefits a Skyactiv-G naturally aspirated 2.0-liter direct injection engine with a 5.1 kW electric motor and 24-volt battery.

Mazda said that the mild-hybrid version of the MX-30 is a very efficient car with a smooth ride and better acceleration.

The fully electric version uses a 104 kW electric motor and a 355-volt battery and it is not available in JDM yet but we expect that Mazda will introduce it for its domestic market by next year. Also, there is a possibility of seeing the mild-hybrid version of the MX-30 outside Japan, maybe in the U.S. yet Mazda is expecting to sell about 12,000 Mild Hybrid unite in the Japanese market.

Price

Pricing for the mild-hybrid MX-30 starts from $22,900 in Japan and can reach to $32,100 depending on the trim and 2WD or 4WD variants.
