Meet Brabus Mercedes-Maybach GLS With 800 HP

Author: |

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS is one of the most opulent SUVs on the market, but some tuners aren't as enthusiastic about it as we are. Brabus apparently feels that the Mercedes-Maybach GLS is capable of competing with supercars, so it designed an upgrade package for the Maybach that takes it to a new level.

Exterior Leveled Up

Power retractable running boards and a stainless exhaust system with matte black tailpipes have been added to the Mercedes-Maybach GLS Brabus. Shadow Grey highlights have replaced the Maybach chrome trim, and the factory wheels have been replaced with enormous 24-inches.

The AIRMATIC suspension has been tuned to fit the wheels, and the ride height has been reduced by about 25 mm.

Aerodynamic Touches

With a new, aerodynamically engineered carbon-fiber body package, the GLS receives a complete aesthetic overhaul that improves its appeal and performance. A new front splitter and front air intake trim have been added. Brabus added a new center diffuser and cutouts for the Brabus sport exhaust system tailpipes to the lower valance at the back.

Same Engine, More Power

Brabus also adjusts the powertrain, increasing it from 557 horsepower and 730 pound-feet of torque to 800 horsepower and 950 pound-feet of torque. The installation of new turbos and a PowerXtra control module resulted in an increase of 240 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque. The GLS can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds before reaching a peak speed of 300 km/h, which is electronically regulated.

Interior Luxury

It has Leonis Orange leather inside the interior, which contrasts with the carbon fiber trim. Aluminum pedals, Shadow Grey accents, and two retractable tables are among the other features.
