Mercedes-Benz is ushering in the 2025 model year with a host of updates and enhancements across its lineup. One of the most notable changes is to the controversial AMG C-Class, which is now entering its third generation with several refinements. Both the C43 and C63 models have received upgrades to their MBUX infotainment system and now feature a center airbag between the front seats. Additionally, significant hardware improvements have been made to both vehicles.

Under the hood, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG C43 boasts a more powerful version of its turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine. The four-cylinder mill now delivers 416 horsepower, a 14-horsepower increase over its predecessor. While torque remains unchanged at 369 lb-ft, the C43's acceleration time has been reduced from 4.6 seconds to 4.3 seconds. For those seeking even more performance, the full-fat C63 S offers optional ceramic composite brakes for enhanced stopping power.

Traditionalists will be pleased to know that the larger E-Class is now available with rear-wheel drive, making it a more direct competitor to the BMW 530i. Unlike the Audi A6, which is exclusively offered with all-wheel drive, the Mercedes E350 features the same 2.0-liter turbo engine as its 4Matic counterpart, producing 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Interestingly, the 0-60 mph sprint time remains identical at 6.1 seconds for both the rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants. The RWD E350 is priced at $63,600, which is $2,500 less than the all-wheel drive model but still slightly more expensive than the 530i.

Beyond the C-Class and E-Class, other AMG models have also received power upgrades for the 2025 model year. The SL43, for example, now produces 416 horsepower, matching the output of the C43. Torque has also been increased to 369 lb-ft, resulting in a faster 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds.

While the highly anticipated CLE 63 is not part of the 2025 lineup, there is optimism that it will eventually arrive with a V-8 engine. In the meantime, the CLE 53 Cabriolet is joining the lineup with an inline-six powertrain. Additionally, Mercedes recently teased the next-generation CLA, but the current model will continue to be available for the 2025 model year.
