Mercedes-AMG turns 55 this year, and the company has a particularly special way to mark the occasion with its followers. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 EDITION 55 is a brand-new, extremely limited edition car. the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 55 race car, which is based on the Mercedes-AMG GT3 racecar, will be constructed in a very small batch of just five units.
Although the car cannot compete in FIA races, this also means that Mercedes-AMG didn't have to make any modifications to the car to comply with racing regulations. The fact that the race car is not FIA homologated, which means there are no constraints on its aerodynamics, engine, exhaust, and weight, is one of its key attributes.
The under-the-skin 6.3-liter V8 engine has been tuned to produce 650 horsepower, or roughly 100 horsepower more than the FIA-homologated GT3 racer. Additionally, the performance exhaust system now produces an even more thunderous sound and does not have the required silencer.
While the matte-finished aero parts, such as the front and rear diffusers, the rear wing, flicks, louver, radiator grille, and side skirts, whose carbon fiber weave is left visible, are finished in MANUFAKTUR alpine grey uni with red accents that match the body color.
The GT3 Edition 55 features special details including seat embroidery that reads "Edition 55 - 1 of 5".
Anthracite metallic paint dominates the inside, with visible pieces of carbon fiber in contrast. Silver highlights may be seen on the seat belts as well. The cabin has the most recent version of the data display unit (DDU) made by the firm and provided by Bosch. Important details including engine speed, operating temperatures, lap times, and gear are displayed on the high-resolution display. The 55th anniversary emblem appears on the screen as soon as the automobile is turned on.
Only five versions of the anniversary race car will be built by Mercedes-AMG, and each one will have a distinct range of serial numbers. Each unit of Mercedes-AMG GT3 EDITION 55 Costs €625,000.
