Mercedes Benz this week launched the plug-in hybrid model of A class called A250e in Australia with the base price of $46,111 which is equal to AU$63,400.
The car is available in both sedan and hatchback versions and it is equipped with a new 1.3-liter petrol engine that can produce 158 hp and 250 nm of torque. The electric motor pumps out 101 hp and 300 nm of torque and the total output of the hybrid system reaches to 215 hp and 450 nm of torque transferred to the front wheels with 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Mercedes Benz A250e can hit 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds in the hatchback version and 6.7 seconds in the second version. The car uses a 15.6 kwh battery pack. Buyers can order 24kw type 2 CCS plug charger that can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in just 25 minutes as an extra cost option.
Standard features for A250e include LED headlights, MBUX infotainment system, voice control, wireless charging pad, climate control and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Safety features also include active Lane Keep Assist, blind spot assist, pre-safe accident anticipation system, adaptive high beam assist and traffic sign assist.
