Mercedes Benz Australia has recalled 5,826 Mercedes Benz X-Class dual-cab because of active braking assistance fault. According to the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) the X-Class’s autonomous braking system mistakenly detects an obstacle and activates brakes unexpectedly.
As Mercedes Benz Australia announced this fault can increase the risk of accident and serious injury or death to the vehicle occupants or other road users.
The affected vehicles were sold between February 2018 and August 2019 and Mercedes-Benz is going to give the vehicles a software update. In total, 5,826 vehicles are going to be recalled by Mercedes Benz dealerships.
