New 242 HP Engine Announced For Seat Tarraco With 5 & 7 Seats

Seat Tarraco is a crossover vehicle by Seat that uses the same platform as the Volkswagen Tiguan. Seat has introduced a new engine from the TSI family for the Tarraco crossover. Seat Tarraco is available with other engines like a diesel TDI and a plug-in hybrid TSI. The new TSI engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged unit with 242 hp and 370 nm of torque. These figures ate almost identical to a plug-in hybrid TSI engine while the PHEV powertrain has about 30 nm more torque thanks to its electric motor. Power sent to all four wheels with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission and 4Drive AWD system.

With these power and torque figures, Seat Tarraco can hit 100 kph in just 6.2 seconds and hit the top speed of 228 kph.Seat also claimed that the average fuel consumption is between 8.4 to 9.2 l/100 km.

5 & 7 Seater

While the PHEV Seat Tarraco is only available as a five-seater car, the normal petrol model can be ordered with 7 seat configuration. Options inside the cabin include dual-zone climate control system, leather steering wheel, fully digital instrument cluster, drive mode selection and push-button starts.

Price

Pricing for Seat Tarraco starts from $37,069 in Germany, the base model has a 2.0-liter TDI turbodiesel engine with 150 hp connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. The most expensive trim of the Tarraco is $44,084.
