New Buick Electra E5 Revealed In China

In China, where the electric crossover is currently on sale, the Buick Electra E5 has been completely unveiled. The company's first electric vehicle (EV) to use the Ultium platform from General Motors is offered locally with two- and all-wheel drive thanks to single- and dual-motor configurations. The new tri-shield insignia and 18- or 20-inch wheels are also available to buyers. Customers can choose between 68- and 80-kWh batteries and spend more money on the most expensive Avenir trim shown below.

The Electra E5 has dimensions of 4,892 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height, with a 2,954 mm-long wheelbase.

The Standard Range edition of the Buick Electra E5 offers 241 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque for a 0 to 100 km/h time of 7.6 seconds. The Buick Electra E5 is available in five different flavors. The smaller of the two batteries, with a CLTC cycle life of 545 km, is in it.

The larger battery pack provides the required power for the Long Range model's 201 hp electric motor, which is less powerful. The sprint is finished in 8.6 seconds, and 620 kilometers may be traveled on a single charge. With the same output and range, the Standard Range and Long Range are both offered in a better-equipped Enjoy trim level.

The elegant Electra E5 Avenir has dual motors that together produce 283 horsepower and 465 Nm. It accelerates from a stop to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and can go 603 kilometers on its larger battery before needing to be plugged in. The battery can be recharged from 30 to 80% in roughly 28 minutes.

Speaking of the interior, the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster are combined in a 30-inch curved display that the driver uses. Avenir-branded sill plates, a headliner made of suede and microfiber, and unique front seats with embroidered headrests complete the package.

Prices for the Standard Range start at $30,500 and go up to $40,700 for the Avenir. By the middle of the year, Buick will introduce a second Ultium-based EV in China.
